Marriage Notes

Family Album: 92 93 94

Gerhard and Apollonia were married the same day as four other couples: John Herr and Helena Pung, Bernard Buchel and Emilia Herr, John Simon and M. A. Halfman, and Joseph Hauck and Anna Thelen.

Burials:

An inscription for Gerhard and Apollonia Rademacher appears on the opposite side of the grave marker for Gerhard's parents, Heinrich and Maria Gertrude Rademacher. This marker is at Saint Mary's Cemetery, Westphalia, Clinton, Michigan.

The death certificates for both Gerhard and Apollonia Rademacher indicate their bodies were either buried or removed to Mount Olivet, which is probably Mount Olivet Cemetery, Detroit, Wayne, Michigan. Memorials at Find-A-Grave indicate specific section, lot, and space numbers for Gerhard and Apollonia. This implies they are actually buried at Mount Olivet.

When Gerhard's parents died, he may have had their grave marker inscribed with his and his wife's name with the intention that they would one day be buried there. Sometime later, they moved to Detroit, and when they eventually died, they may have been buried in Detroit. Thus the grave marker at Westphalia would be incorrect.
