Well Known Jeweler, Edward Voisin, Dies
Edward A. Voisin, 66, retired Mt. Pleasant jeweler and a lifetime resident of Isabella county, died Sunday evening at his residence at 406 South College.
Mr. Voisin began the jewelry establishment known as E. A. Voisin and Sons 40 years ago. Since his retirement several years ago his sons, Leo and Walter, have continued with the business.
Mr. Voisin was born March 15, 1890 in Beal City. He was a Past Grand Knight of Columbus and a member of the Chamber of Commerce.
The survivors include his wife, Clara; sons, Joseph of St. Mary’s, Ohio, and Walter and Leo of Mt. Pleasant; daughters, Mrs. Lillian Webster, Mrs. Dorothy Sheahan and Mrs. Rita Ann Deni of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Ruth Rakowski of Bad Axe and Mrs. Irene Edwards of Columbus, Ohio, and 27 grand children.
Others are brothers, Herman, George and Ernest of Mt. Pleasant, Williard of Lansing and Louis of Florida, and sisters, Mrs. Erma Thelan and Mrs. Henrietta Blasen of Beal City.
A solemn requiem high mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Sacred Heart church with burial in Calvary cemetery. Rosary services will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Rush Funeral home chapel.

Clara Voisin
Clara Voisin of Mount Pleasant died Sunday at the Isabella County Medical Care facility in Mount Pleasant. A resident of this area for the past 70 years, she was 87.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church in Mount Pleasant. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Mount Pleasant.
A rosary will be said Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the Lux-Rush Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant.
Friends may call at the funeral home today after 7 p.m. and Tuesday from 1 to 9 p.m.
Memorials to the Sacred Heart Academy Foundation will be appreciated.
Mrs. Voisin was born Nov. 6, 1893 in Chicago, Ill. She married Edward Voisin in Beal City on June 24, 1913.
Mrs. Voisin was a life member of the Sacred Heart altar society.
Surviving are five daughters, Lillian Webster of Mount Pleasant, Mrs. Florian (Ruth) Rakowski of Bad Axe, Irene Edwards of Columbus, Ohio and Mrs. Jerry (Dorothy) Sheahan and Rita Ann Deni, both of Mount Pleasant; and two sons, Walter of Mount Pleasant and Leo of South Milwaukee, Wis.
Also surviving are one sister, Rose Beachnaw of Lansing; one brother Arnold Scholl of Beal City; 45 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Voisin was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, in 1956, and one son, Joseph.
