"By the age of 19, Anna Katharina (Katharina) had moved to Detroit, where she operated a vegetable stand and later a grocery store. She eventually sold the store to her daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Joseph Platte. Katharina and George had two children, according to the 1900 Detroit City Census."
