Richard Edward Yuncker, 80, of Beal City passed away on Friday, October 3, 2008 at his home.

A Funeral Mass for Richard will be held on Tuesday, October 7, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with Father Thomas McNamara and Deacon Larry Fussman officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church on Monday, October 6, from 2-9 p.m. with a Prayer Service Monday evening at 8:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 7, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph the Worker School. Envelopes will be available at Clark Family Funeral Chapel and the church.

Richard was born on July 13, 1928 in Detroit, the son of Herbert and Catherine Elizabeth Ella (Smith) Yuncker. He graduated from St. Philomena High School and Michigan State University with a degree in Agriculture. Richard served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Joyce Dutcher on October 24, 1953 in Beal City. Richard was employed by the US Post Office as a postal carrier for 26 years before retiring in 1993. Richard also farmed until 1969, worked at the State Home and Training and owned the John Deere dealership in Barryton. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker, Knights of Columbus in Beal City and the VFW Weidman Post. Richard really enjoyed playing cards with his family, Euchre Card Club, golfing in Beal City Senior League, hunting, fishing, horseshoes, softball, camping and vegetable gardening.

Richard is survived by his wife, Joyce; children, Debbie (Steve) Andrus of Saginaw, Denise (Larry) Kish of Harbor Beach, MI, Gregg (Linda) Yuncker of Grayling, Randy (Barb) Yuncker of Beal City, Tim Yuncker of Beal City, Scott (Kaye) Yuncker of Beal City, Keith Yuncker of Lake Isabella, Deanne (Kevin) Kennedy of Beal City and Danelle (Pete) Lorenz of Beal City; twenty-three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, LaVern (Linda) Yuncker of Beal City; sisters, Arlene (Don) Cotter of Beal City and Delores (Don) Krueger of Beal City and his sister-in-law, Joan Yuncker of Lake Isabella.

Richard was preceded in death by his father in 1986; his mother in 2008 at age 100; son Brian Yuncker in 1960 and brother, Evan Yuncker.
