Services for John S Yuncker, 80, of Mt. Pleasant are scheduled today at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Parish, with the Rev. Steve Fillion officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Lux-Rush Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.

Mr. Yuncker, a Mt. Pleasant resident for 50 years, died April 13, 1983 at his home.

He was born Dec. 1, 1902 in Beal City to Henry and Katherine (Schafer) Yuncker. He married Anna Wohlscheid in May 1925 and she preceded him in death in May 1970.

He then married Vivian McGrogan in November 1972, She survives him.

Before retiring in 1967, Mr. Yuncker was the chief engineer for Mt. Pleasant Public Schools for 35 years.
"He was a very loyal employee," said Jack Anson, assistant superintendent of the schools.

Mr. Anson said Mr. Yuncker worked with the buildings' boilers and was responsible for those passing state inspection.

He was also a member of Mr. Pleasant Moose Lodge No. 195.

Besides his wife, Vivian, Mr. Yuncker is survived by four daughters, Mrs. William (Betty) Kennedy and Mrs. Robert (Carol) Fedewa, both of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Thomas (Janet) Craven of Weidman and Mrs. Thomas (Bonnie) Burton of Farwell; two brothers, William and Herb, both of Beal City; 34 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. Mr. Yuncker was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Lillian Smith, a life resident of Isabella County, died Sunday at Central Michigan community Hospital in Mount Pleasant, She was 71.

Funeral services for Mrs. Smith, 815 E Andre St., Mount Pleasant, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mount Pleasant. The Rev. Patrick O'Conner will officiate and burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.

A scripture service will take place at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Lux-Rush Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant.
Mrs. Smith was born Dec. 1, 1906 in Isabella County's Nottawa Township. She was the daughter of Henry and Katherine Yuncker. She married Leo Smith April 10, 1928 in Beal City. Her survives her.

Other survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Carl (Georgia) Kreiner of Rosebush, Mrs. Ber (Esther) Sweet of Rosebush, Mrs. Ron (Phyllis) Kreiner of Leaton, and Mrs. Robert (Betty) Trost of Mount Pleasant; 19 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers; and three sisters.

One daughter preceded her in death.

Proud grandmother of nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great- grandchild. Visitation Sunday 2-9 p.m. at Vermeulen Funeral Home, 46401 W Ann Arbor Rd (Btwn Sheldon & Beck) Plymouth. Rosary Sunday 7 p.m. Funeral Mass Monday 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
