The 1855 New York state census shows the Hubert Yuncker [00742] and Marie Barbe (Gossé) Yuncker [00866] family. Only two children are shown at home, Jacob P. Yuncker [00022] and Louisa Yuncker [01235]. The older daughters Catharine Yuncker [01475] and Marie Yuncker [01477] may be married and living with their families. Curiously the younger children, George Yuncker [01194], age 10, and Elizabeth Yuncker [01234], age 12, are not listed.

Hubert, Barbara and Jacob are listed as being born in France, while Louisa was born in Erie county. Hubert's occupation is likely a shoe maker. He was a naturalized citizen and owned land.
