A dispensation granted to Michel Nau [01490] and Anne Pfeiffer [01709] by the office of Louis-Joseph de Montmorency-Laval, the Bishop of Metz, France, dated May 17, 1765. The Roman Catholic Church prohibited marriage within the fourth degree of consanguinity (i. e., third cousins or closer). This certificate allowed them to marry.
