000837-01: Map, 1871
Detail from an 1871 map of Buffington Township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania showing land originally owned by John Stewart . A portion of this land may have been deeded in trust to his grandsons John Stewart and James Stewart in 1832. The "Business Notices" section on the map lists John and James Stewart. There is a "J. Stewart" and "J. Stewart, Sr." shown near one another, at top center. Note that "Sr." or "Senior" does not necessarily mean a father and son relationship. It could mean the older brother, John Stewart.
