Obituary: 2016

John Joseph Voisin
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of a wonderful husband; father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend to many. Special ‘Poppa’ to Elena Dobson.

John passed away peacefully in the arms of his loving wife and best friend for almost 53 years, Gail, and his treasured son Rob by his side, at the Victoria Hospital, London, on Friday, April 22, 2016.

John was born May 14, 1938 in Walkerton and is survived by his wife Gail (Lobsinger), adoring son Rob and his special friend Luanne (Pyper).
Survived by his sisters, Eleanor Robertson of Conway, PA, Marg (Ken) Weishar, Rose (Harvey) Kinzie, Mary (Real) Chabot, Cecile Meridith, all of Cambridge, and sister-in-law Sheila Voisin of Guelph, and he was the much loved uncle to many nieces and nephews. John was the brother-in-law of Grace (Harry) Schnurr and Jeanette Lobsinger of Walkerton, Nanci Picken of Marle Lake.
Predeceased by his daughter-in-law Cheryl (Dupuis) Voisin, parents Wilma and Jacob Voisin, his brothers Al (Toni), Joe, his sisters, Christine (Edward) Batte, Veronica (Tom) Donaldson, Elizabeth, Brother-in-laws Ron Lobsinger, David Picken, Ralph Robertson and Gord Meredith, and his parents-in-law Irwin and Ruth Lobsinger.

He will be missed by his yellow lab ‘Bow’, who he spent many hours in the bush and playing ball with.
John was a proud member of the Walkerton Fire Department, retiring after 25 years of service. He started with Ontario Hydro in 1956 working on tower lines and ended his career at the Bruce Nuclear Power Station as an electrician and lineman, retiring in 2002. A member of the Walkerton Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph’s Aid Society, Formosa, Grey-Bruce Wood Lot Association Member, IBEW Local 1788. Member of Sacred Heart Church, Walkerton, were he ushered and operated the lift.

He loved working with wood, wood carvings, logging, and enjoyed his Woodmiser Saw Mill. He made many pieces of furniture, log trucks, cribbage boards, rocking horses, cradle, all of which we treasure. John loved his hobby farm and spent many hours out there. He and Rob built a cabin where they enjoyed many cookouts with family and friends. A love for fishing, he always enjoyed going out with friends and the fly-in fishing trips with Rob. John kept a garden and was proud of all the vegetables he grew.
